The South Korea international enjoyed a memorable debut for Ulsan Hyundai during their comfortable win over Sangju Sangmu on Saturday.

Jo Hyeon-woo, who joined the K-League runner-ups from Daegu FC during the close season, remained focused throughout the game, despite his team’s thorough dominance.

Hyeon-woo was not overly troubled by the Sangju attackers, but he proved his credentials with two crucial interventions, with the score at 1-0, just before the half-time interval. The 28-year-old made a comfortable stop from Song Seung-min, after his weak clearance fell to the attacker, and followed it up with a timely clearance to deny Jin Seong-uk running through on goal.

The shot-stopper ensured Ulsan held on to their lead at a crucial juncture in the game and was duly rewarded with a clean sheet in the end, as the hosts powered themselves to a perfect start to their campaign.
